How to See Removed Reddit Posts & Deleted Comments in 2026

Wayback Machine Inconsistent

The Internet Archive periodically snapshots web pages, including Reddit threads. If a page was captured before content was removed or deleted, you can find a cached version.

Still works for: High-traffic threads that were crawled by the Archive. Popular posts on major subreddits have the best odds.

Doesn't work for: Low-traffic posts, comments deep in threads, or anything that wasn't crawled before removal. You also need the exact URL to search.

Google Cache Rarely works

Google occasionally caches Reddit pages. If Google indexed the page before the content was removed, you might find it by searching for the URL.

Still works for: Very recent removals (within days) of popular posts. Cache expires fast.

Doesn't work for: Anything more than a few days old. Google has been reducing cache availability over the past year.
