RedReap ("we", "our", "the Software") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Through the Software (desktop application)

The RedReap desktop application collects no personal data. Specifically:

• We do not track what you download
• We do not collect usernames you add to the tool
• We do not upload your downloaded files anywhere
• We do not collect analytics, usage data, or telemetry from the application
• All downloaded content is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers

The only network requests the Software makes are:

• License validation: On launch, the Software contacts our licensing API to verify your subscription is active. This transmits your license key and a machine identifier (hostname). No other data is sent.
• Update check: On launch, the Software checks for available updates by requesting a version file from our server. No personal data is transmitted.
• Content downloading: The Software makes requests to Reddit, RedGifs, and archival services to download content on your behalf. These requests go directly from your device to those services. We do not proxy, intercept, or log these requests.

Through the Website (redreap.com)

Our website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. We do not collect any data from website visitors.

Through Purchase

When you purchase RedReap, your payment is processed by our third-party payment provider (Whop). They collect:

• Email address
• Payment information (credit card, PayPal)
• Billing address (if required by payment method)

This data is collected and stored by the payment provider, not by RedReap. Please refer to their privacy policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

2. How We Use Your Data

• License key + machine ID: Used solely to verify your subscription status and enforce the 2-device activation limit. Not shared with third parties.
• Email address: Used to deliver your license key, send purchase confirmations, and communicate important product updates (e.g., critical bug fixes). We do not send marketing emails.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, we do not collect:

• Browsing history or download history
• IP addresses (beyond what's inherent in any HTTPS request to our license server)
• Content you download or usernames you track
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
• Location data
• Device information beyond hostname (for license activation)

4. Third-Party Services

The Software interacts with the following third-party services on your behalf:

• Reddit (reddit.com) - to fetch public post data and media
• RedGifs (redgifs.com) - to fetch video content and profile data
• Internet Archive (web.archive.org) - to search for archived content
• Other archival services - to recover deleted content

These requests are made directly from your device. We do not act as an intermediary. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

5. Data Retention

License validation data (key + machine ID) is retained for the duration of your subscription. If you cancel and your subscription expires, your license data is retained for 90 days to facilitate reactivation, then deleted.

Downloaded content on your local device is yours. We have no access to it and cannot delete it.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request what data we hold about you (limited to license key, email, and machine ID)
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability: Your downloaded content is already on your local device in standard file formats

7. Children's Privacy

RedReap is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
